The La-Z-Boy chair has long been the chill out chair of choice, but CSL’s new five-seater sound sofa offers an upgrade with speakers and Bluetooth.

There is often nothing better than putting your feet up in the evening after a gruelling day at the office. With this new offering from furniture chain CSL, which topped Business XL’s Rising Stars list of fast-growing companies in 2010, you may never want to leave the couch again.

The Sound Sofa is a five-seater settee with a nifty built-in sound system. The latest creation from the family-owned furniture chain contains built-in speakers and a bass box as well as a USB port, an SD card slot and Bluetooth connectivity.

Music lovers can collapse onto the couch and plug their iPod or iPhone into the built-in dock, lie back and listen to their favourite songs. What’s more, the dock enables the sofa to double as a charger, meaning no more getting comfortable only to have to jump up to plug your phone into the nearest socket.  

With three speakers housed in a corner unit, the Sound Sofa promises to enhance the experience of listening to music, watching a film or playing video games, according to CSL. Managing director Jason Tyldesley comments, ‘We wanted to create a modern and, most importantly, affordable fabric sofa which offers more than just comfort.’

The clever couch is selling across the chain’s 21 stores at £999.
