UK-based e-commerce company Modern Milkman was the fastest-growing company in the UK between 2019-2022, a report has revealed.
The eighth annual FT1000 rankings by the Financial Times and Statista is based on revenue growth in the three years to 2022.
Modern Milkman, an e-commerce startup, came out on top with an annual compound growth rate of 322.3 per cent. The company offers dairy products in plastic-free packaging and returnable glass bottles.
The survey included 2021, which saw record-breaking investment into companies. Equity investment in small UK businesses almost doubled in that year, hitting a record £18.1bn across 2,616 deals.
The fastest growing company Europe-wide was Czech-based Raylyst Solar, which distributes solar panels across the continent. The company recorded an annual compound growth rate of 824.4 per cent.
The second fastest growing company in the UK is recruitment company Join Talent, which recorded a compound growth rate of 296.8 per cent. The company offers a recruitment solution to clients that adapts to peaks of demand for talent throughout the year.
Join Talent’s founder, Katrina Hutchinson O’Neill said she was initially denied support from a female entrepreneur-focused support group because they didn’t consider the company to have ‘hyper-scale potential’.
“We have defied those expectations, but how many others have been held back?” she said. “Over the coming years I want to do everything I can to provide better access to support for other entrepreneurial women who come after me than I experienced – and I hope as a result they make even more of a success of it than we have.”
