Proximie, a global health-tech platform digitising operating theatres around the world, has raised £10.3m ($12.5m) from British Patient Capital, as part of a £66m ($80m) Series C round.
The platform allows clinicians to virtually attend any operating theatre in the world to share best clinical practice in real time and support continued medical education.
The investment has been made via the British Patient Capital’s £375m Future Fund: Breakthrough programme which co-invests in innovative, R&D-intensive UK companies. The round was led by Advent Life Sciences.
On-demand menswear brand pockets £5m
Spoke, an on-demand menswear brand, has raised £5m in a crowdfunding round led by Oxford Capital.
The London-based start-up offers its customers a custom-made fit with up to 400 sizing options – ten times more than other store-based menswear brands.
The round was completed on the Seedrs platform and was the largest crowdfunding campaign on the platform this year. Forward Partners, BGF and 24 Haymarket also participated.
Earth observation software for businesses spots £1.5m
Edinburgh-based SaaS start-up Earth Blox has secured £1.5m to develop its satellite data analysis software.
Earth Blox’s software allows anyone to analyse satellite data to make business decisions. This can include identifying illegal deforestation and mining so businesses can clean up their supply chains. Angel syndicate Archangels led the round.
Mortgage platform processes £1.2m
Mast, a cloud-native mortgage platform which streamlines mortgage applications, has raised £1.2m in a funding round led by Antler VC.
The London-based fintech offers workflow tools and automation processes to help lenders approve applications quicker than traditional methods. Angel investors also participated in the round.
Severe weather insurance platform closes seed round
BirdsEyeView, an insurance tech start-up which uses AI and satellite technology to structure insurance solutions for severe weather, has closed a seed funding round led by SFC Capital and the European Space Agency (ESA).
The London-based start-up provides SMEs access to weather-based events insurance products thanks to meteorological data gathered by the likes of European Space Agency and NASA.
Allotment platform reaps £250,000 in pre-seed funding
An allotment marketplace platform that has been dubbed the “Airbnb for gardens” has raised £250,000 in a pre-seed round led by QVentures.
AllotMe matches people renting outdoor space with those wishing to cultivate food. It means under-utilised areas in cities can be listed and turned into temporary areas for growing vegetables.
