Social care platform raises £28.5m to manage shifts

Florence, a UK-based social care platform, has raised $35m (£28.5m) in Series B funding.

Florence’s free app connects social care workers with available shifts, cutting out agencies so shifts are filled directly with temporary staff. The app also provides care organisations with rota management and training tools.

The round was led by Axa Venture Partners with participation from Roo Capital and existing backers SEEK Investments.

£20m delivered to Latin American logistics solution

ClicOH, a logistics solution for businesses in Latin America, has closed £20m ($25m) in Series A funding from Tiger Global, London-based Digital Horizon and previous investors.

ClicOH uses its logistics network to store, pack and deliver products for e-commerce businesses throughout Argentina, Mexico, Chile and Uruguay, enabling them to efficiently and securely ship goods across the region at lower costs than large marketplaces.

£14m in fresh funding for biodiversity start-up

NatureMetrics, a Guildford-based start-up which delivers biodiversity data, has raised £14m in fresh funding.

Industries such as infrastructure, energy, marine, conservation and construction will increasingly be affected by requirements to manage biodiversity-related impacts from ESG-conscious investors and regulators.

The investment was led by 2150 with participation from Ananda Impact Ventures, SWEN Capital Partners’ Blue Ocean and BNP Paribas Solar Impulse Venture Fund, and follow-on from Systemiq Capital.

Checkstep supported by £4m investment to tackle online abuse

Checkstep, a UK start-up providing social media content moderation using AI, has closed a £4m ($5m) seed round, following a £1.4m ($1.8m) pre-seed round last year.

Checkstep helps moderators create safe online spaces, providing them with support, tools and AI to tackle harmful content. The platform allows companies to monitor their online content and enforce content policies.

The round was co-led by Dawn Capital and Form Ventures, with participation from angel investors.

UK’s first carbon-neutral fulfilment facility secures £3m

Carbon-neutral fulfilment and warehouse provider Airbox has secured a £3m investment from BOOST&Co.

Airbox, based in Hounslow and Harmondsworth, provides warehouse space for e-commerce businesses. The warehouses themselves contain studios and content-creation facilities that customers can use for their social media strategies.

The business also offers a carbon-neutral warehousing solution in the form of its flagship fulfilment centre.

Investors come together with 1.6m investment for community platform

Community investment platform Neighbourly has raised £1.6m in an accelerator investment round led by Guinness Ventures.

The Bristol-based company, which was recently given the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the innovation category, allows businesses to contribute to local charities by donating staff volunteer time, money, and excess products.
