UK-based home rental website pureholidayhomes.com has been acquired by @Leisure-Group in a transaction that will see the two businesses share platforms.

The deal, which has been made for an undisclosed amount, is said by pureholidayhomes.com to ‘cement’ it as one of the leading UK-based holiday home rental websites.

Founded in 2010, the website has a selection of 26,500 properties for rental while Holland-based @Leisure-Group has 300,000 holiday homes, holiday parks and hotels on its books. In 2011, @Leisure-Group reported turnover of almost €200 million (£167 million).

Sean Collins, chief executive officer of pureholidayhomes.com, comments: ‘From the start we have had an aggressive growth plan for our brand and the partnership we have now forged with @Leisure-Group enables us to continue to offer our registered owners and website visitors a first class experience.’

Chairman of @Leisure-Group, Maarten Esser, says the purchase will ‘accelerate’ its international growth.

Esser adds: ‘We want to be present in all the major European markets, so also in the UK. Via this acquisition we will be able to give both UK property owners and UK holidaymakers access to our European wide platforms.’
