The even-handed heater

This month’s Object of Desire, the Dyson Hot, claims to be the fastest of its kind to heat a room evenly.

Dyson claims that its revolutionary new electric heater, the Dyson Hot, is the fastest of its kind to heat a room evenly. It is this month’s GrowthBusiness Object of Desire.

This could be the answer to the masses across the country who sit in offices that are always either too hot or too cold.

The ‘intelligent thermostat’ means the fan heater can be set between 1C and 37C and when the desired temperature is hit, the Dyson Hot will turn itself off. But you will not go cold because if the thermostat senses a drop in temperature the heater will turn back on to release more heat.

Entrepreneur James Dyson, who revolutionised the vacuum cleaner and the hand-dryer, comments, ‘Other fan heaters rely on inefficient motors or dust-friendly grills. As the heat rises you’re left with a partially heated room and a worrying burning smell.’

He claims that his new invention will ‘produce no smell and heats the whole room’.

The heater sucks in air and warms it using hot ceramic stones and no visible part of it gets hot so there are no burnt fingers. What’s more, in the summer the heat element can be switched off and you can use it as a fan. The smart device doesn’t come cheap, setting you back a cool £269.99.

Well worth it some may say for a perfectly heated office.
