Nottingham-based Staffline Group has acquired recruitment firm A La Carte.

Founded in 1990 by Robert and Erik Vitols, Leicester-based A La Carte supplies temporary and permanent staff for the food, catering and hospitality sectors.

Under the deal, which was for an undisclosed sum, the Vitols brothers will remain with the business, and the A La Carte brand will be retained in the Leicestershire and the East Midlands region. None of A La Carte’s 30 employees will be affected by the sale.

AIM-listed Staffline was founded in 1986 and has more than 130 branches across the UK. The recruitment company focuses on temporary and permanent blue-collar industrial workers, but also has a division called Techsearch which specialises in the engineering, manufacturing, IT and technical sectors.

Richard Cox, a corporate partner at law firm Browne Jacobson who advised Staffline on the sale, comments: ‘The acquisition is in line with the company’s strategy of growing its business and broadening its revenue streams by acquiring complementary recruitment businesses.’
