Business telecoms company SpiriTel has acquired internet telephony provider Boucon Network Solutions for up to £90,000.

Swansea-based Boucon focuses on fixed line telephony services and clients include NHS Trusts and County Councils. In the year to March 2009, Boucon reported revenue of £1.9 million and pre-tax profits of £30,000. The deal is SpiriTel’s tenth acquisition since it joined AIM in 2004.

Alastair Mills, chief executive of SpiriTel, said that the group has a good track record for integrating acquired businesses and it has the scale to deliver cost savings and cross-selling opportunities.

In the six months to October 2009, SpiriTel reported a decrease in revenue of 28 per cent to £7.9 million and a rise in pre-tax losses of 168 per cent to £4.6 million.
