A developer of software for the print media industry has secured first-round funding of £150,000 to grow its business.

The round was led by early-stage investor Avonmore Developments with participation from entrepreneurial brothers Simon and Dale Murray.

Steve Daykin, the CFO of Sainsbury’s Magazine publisher 7 Publishing, has joined Specle’s board.

The company, whose software for communicating publication specifications has been used by agencies and publishers in Belgium, is now planning to expand into other regions.
