RPC provides injection moulded plastic packaging for brands such as Heinz and Nivea.

The deal with Superfos, which employs 1,300 people and has nine plastic packaging production facilities in the Nordic region and Europe, was completed after approval from the European competition commission.

Jamie Pike, chairman of RPC comments: ‘This is a significant acquisition for RPC which is consistent with our strategy of growing the business organically and through acquisition.’

RPC is forecasting that the acquisition could help save £10 million per annum in cost synergy within the third full year of ownership, according to a statement released by the company.
