According to a statement, the acquisition continues OpenText’s expansion into the ‘fast growing’ business process management (BPM) market.
The deal, worth $260 million (£161 million), brings to Canadian-based OpenText, a business which has reported revenues of $90 million.
John Shackleton, president and chief executive officer of OpenText, says that 60 per cent of global organisations connect their ECM and BPM projects under a single strategy.
He adds: ‘Customers are moving in this direction and we are accelerating our investment in leading content, process and case management [services] as a result.
Shackleton says that the acquisition will allow OpenText, which has two bases in the UK, to provide a complete range of services.
The deal follows OpenText’s acquisition of fellow BPM provider Metastorm in February, which is said by OpenText to have complementary services to Texas-headquartered Global 360.
Steve Russell, senior vice president or research and development at Global 360, comments: ‘With its strategic emphasis on content, process and dynamic case management, plus its strong Microsoft relationship, OpenText is a great fit for our customers and our team.’
