- Executive management recruitment and board consulting firm Directorbank has acquired non-executive and board consultant Hanson Green
- Drug specialist the Medical House has sold its loss-making orthopaedic business Eurocut for £500,000 to an undisclosed buyer, in order to clear its bank debt
- Private equity company RJD Partners has led the management buy-out and taken a 51 per cent stake of travel technology company Comtec
- Amusement park operator Merlin Entertainments has purchased London Aquarium, taking its total of sea life centres under management across management to 22
- Vision4health, a provider of software for lab-related diagnostic applications, has acquired US-based laboratory information system Molis, a division of Japan-based Sysmex Group
- Corovest, a property investment and asset management group, has purchased 50 per cent of Wichford Property Management through its subsidiary CIREF
- Water treatment company Hydro International plc has purchased a US rival, Eutek Systems, in order to complement its US wastewater operations

- NetPlay TV plc, an interactive gambling company, has agreed to buy Sky Channel 848 for £475,000 from Beverly Hills-based entertainment media company Hollywood TV
- AMEC plc, an engineering and project management company, is set to acquire Canada-based Bower Damberger Rolseth Engineering, a technical oil and gas engineering business, for CAD$45 million (£22 million) cash
- Balfour Beatty, an international engineering, construction and investment group, has agreed to buy Blackpool International Airport for £14 million cash in a bid to bolster its airport investment and development division, Regional and City Airports
