Charles Saunders, a Bristol-based wholesaler of fresh seafood and frozen foods, has been bought by its management for an undisclosed sum in a deal backed by Jo Honess of Royal Bank of Scotland.

Honess appointed a team in Saffery Champness’ Bristol office, headed by David Wragg, to conduct financial and tax due diligence reviews of the target business.

Wragg, who was supported by Cathy Ashurst and Piers Wright, also provided technical input on the sale purchase agreement.

“We feel that Charles Saunders is a well established local brand and the buy-out will provide an ideal opportunity to give the business fresh impetus,” he said.
