Technical services company Imtech, which is based in the Netherlands and has six offices in the UK and Ireland, has bought Etudes Techniques et Nouvelles Applications (ETNA) for an undisclosed amount.

Technical services company Imtech, which is based in the Netherlands and has six offices in the UK and Ireland, has bought Etudes Techniques et Nouvelles Applications (ETNA) for an undisclosed amount.

The deal comes at the same time as Imtech is to set up five new offices in France, Morocco and Spain, of which four are part of the ETNA business.

ETNA, which provides marine services, has three offices in France and one in Morocco.

Rene van der Bruggen, chief executive office of Imtech, comments: ‘We have a strong position in the global marine market, are active in more than 20 countries and have, as sole marine technical services provider, more than 70 offices along the all important shipping routes.

‘One of the growth areas is the international expansion of the number of marine services offices. With the acquisition of ETNA […] this will enable us to serve our marine customers in Southern Europe and North Africa considerable better, which will lead to further growth.’

According to a statement ETNA is also active on a project basis in Tunisia and provides electrical products on almost all types of ships.
