Existing investor Gimv, a European growth capital and buy-out firm, and newcomer Robert Bosch Venture Capital led the investment in the Netherlands-based company, which specialises in battery-free wireless technology for use in consumer electronics such as remote controls.
Motorola Ventures, London-based venture capitalist DFJ Esprit and Belgium-headquartered Allegro Investment Fund also participated in the fundraising.
Claus Schmidt, MD of Robert Bosch Venture Capital, is joining Greenpeak’s board. He comments, ‘Bosch covers many fields in home, building and industrial applications and recognizes the potential of wireless [technology] in these fields.’
Elderd Land, a partner at Gimv, says Greenpeak’s technology is establishing a platform for home automation.
