Government deal for ManTech

ManTech International has acquired Worldwide Information Systems (WINS) in a cash deal worth $90 million (£57 million).

US-based WINS provides IT systems in network and infrastructure engineering as well as cyber security.

According to US government technology contractor ManTech, which has its UK base in Yorkshire, the transaction will allow them to supply IT services through WIN’s position on the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Solutions for Information Technology Enterprises contract.

George Pedersen, chairman and chief executive officer of ManTech, comments: ‘WINS is a great fit for our strategy of broadening our reach in the growing areas of national-security technology, such as cyber security and systems integration.’

Under the terms of the deal WINS is to become part of ManTech’s Mission, Cyber and Technology Solutions group and be led by William Varner.

Varner adds: ‘WINS innovative IT capabilities fit well with our existing business. With WINS we will be able to offer our customers more comprehensive solutions to overcome their complex network challenges.’
