G4S buys All Star

Security services group G4S, through its US subsidiary Wackenhut Services, has acquired government security business All Star International for $59.9 million (£36.3 million) in cash.

Security services group G4S, through its US subsidiary Wackenhut Services, has acquired government security business All Star International for $59.9 million (£36.3 million) in cash.

All Star manages facilities at US government departments including defence, energy and the internal revenue service. The company employs 1,200 staff and generated a turnover of $127.5 million (£77.2 million) in the year to September.

Dave Foley, president and CEO of WSI, said that the deal supported G4S’ strategy of expanding its offering in facility management services for the high-security government sector.  

West Sussex-based G4S reported an increase in revenue of 12 per cent to £3.5 billion and pre-tax profits of £229.8 million in the six months to June.
