Fostering Solutions acquires Pathway Care from ISIS

ISIS Equity Partners has sold foster care agency Pathway Care to Fostering Solutions, part of the Acorn Care and Education Group, for an undisclosed sum.

Pathway Care is the UK’s fourth largest independent fostering agency with 570 foster carers looking after 730 children across England and Wales.

ISIS has held its investment in Pathway Care for six years. Since then the business has expanded from Wales into England, and increased its foster carer base from 210 to 570. The business has operations across the Midlands, the South West and East England.

Pathway Care’s foster carers look after 730 children placed by local authorities, double the number when ISIS first invested.

Fostering Solutions managing director David Johnson says the acquisition enables the agency to extend its presence across the UK.

He adds, ‘It is clear that both organisations are committed to providing high quality foster care to children and young people. Pathway Care’s outstanding reputation means that it fits with the values of Fostering Solutions and together, the two organisations will benefit from increased resources and expertise.’

Ian McKay, CEO of Pathway Care, comments, ‘Pathway Care has built its reputation by providing Local Authorities with the skilled foster carers they need and a service quality they can trust. Fostering Solutions share this ethos and with the geographical operations being so complementary, the combined resources will be all the better equipped to meet the future needs of looked after children across England and Wales.’
