Braveheart, the AIM-listed technology investor, has made a third investment in Design LED Products (DLP), injecting £1.1 million in the Scottish lighting company.

The funding package comprised funds from Braveheart clients Siemens AG, Scottish Enterprise’s Scottish Co-investment and Portfolio Funds, as well as from existing shareholders and private individuals, says a statement from the firm.

DLP has developed and patented technology to embed Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) within printed light-guide devices. The technology enables thin, flexible, high efficiency light panels and displays suitable for a range of applications.

Founded in 2004 and based in Livingston, Scotland, DLP aims to enter the lighting and LCD TV backlighting market. CEO Stuart Bain adds that the investment will help the company gain ‘significant market share’.
