NHS staff management platform recruits £20m
Patchwork Health, a staff management platform for the NHS, has raised £20m in a Series B funding round led by Perwyn. KHP Ventures and existing backer Praetura Ventures also participated.
Patchwork allows NHS teams to recruit, manage and dispatch healthcare workers more easily. The platform provides a pool of temporary staff for recruitment, while storing staff rota preferences for full-time workers.
Simulator for training surgeons raises £16m
Medical simulation start-up FundamentalVR has secured an additional $20m (£16.4m) in Series B funding led by EQT Life Sciences. Previous investor Downing Ventures joined in a round that brings the company’s total funding to over £24.5m.
FundamentalVR’s surgical simulation platform combines VR and haptics (virtual sense of touch) to mimic the sights, sounds and physical sensations of performing real-life surgery in a controlled training environment.
Sales team conversation analyser closes £13.5m
Jiminny, a conversation intelligence provider for sales teams, has closed a $16.5m (£13.5m) Series A funding round led-by Kennet Partners.
Jiminny’s platform allows sales teams to record, transcribe and analyse customer conversations in real-time to help improve sales performance.
Podcast start-up for brands raises £2.5m
Podcast start-up Auddy has raised £2.5m in a funding round led by Pembroke VCT. Existing investors Haatch Ventures and Brick Capital Ventures also participated.
Auddy produces original podcasts for brands and offers a “private podcasting” service which offers an organisation the ability to share audio content directly with a targeted private community.
Agtech firm harvests £1.5m in seed funding
Muddy Machines, an agtech and robotics start-up, has reaped £1.5m in seed funding. Regenerate Ventures led the round.
Hayes-based Muddy Machines automates crop harvesting through its net-zero field robot, which uses AI to decide what’s ripe for picking. It can also harvest for 16 hours a day and gives farmers a yield projection for the coming days.
Athlete fuel provider fuelled by £1.2m
Healthy meal delivery provider Fuel Hub has secured £1.2m from Andy Bell, founder of investment platform AJ Bell, and its former director Fergus Lyons.
Fuel Hub prepares, cooks and delivers chef-prepared, nutritious meals to sports teams and athletes across the UK. The company also delivers weekly boxes of healthy meals to households that can be prepared in less than three minutes.
