Creative Lynx in MBO

In today's deal headlines design agency Creative Lynx has undergone a management buy-out, as SABMiller plc looks set to acquire Ukrainian brewer CJSC Sarmat, valued at some £66.4 million.

  • Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation plc, a diversified natural resources group with its operations in Kazakhstan, has purchased 50 per cent in Xinjiang Tuoli Taihang Ferro-Alloy Co, a Chinese ferroalloys producer, for RMB101.3 million (£7.4 million)
  • Mercury Recycling plc, a lamp and battery recycling company, has acquired a rival group comprising Envirolite, Envirolite Midlands and Bakersfield Environmental Services, for £1.1 million cash
  • Property & construction surveyor PH Warr plc has undergone a management buy-in
  • Multipart Fleetserve, a parts supplier to airport vehicles, has been taken over by its management
  • Design agency Creative Lynx has undergone a management buy-out, backed by Royal Bank of Scotland
  • Dublin-based property and investment company Harcourt Developments has bought hotel Princess on Portland for £8 million
  • Hospira, a global specialty pharmaceutical and medication delivery company has acquired software engineer Sculptor Developmental Technologies, a subsidiary of St Clair Health Corporation
  • Hire Station has expanded its tool hire business with the purchase of DJ Tool Hire from its administrators Deloitte
  • Great Northern Solutions has bought Cable-Talk for £2.8 million, in order to bolster its provision of cabling services for computer networks and technical voice systems

Deals in the pipeline:

  • US-based diversified industrial engineer Illinois Tool Works is set to buy Enodis plc for some £1 million in order to expand on its existing UK operations
  • SABMiller plc has agreed to purchase Ukrainian brewer CJSC Sarmat, valued at some £66.4 million
