Vision Security Group (VSG) has been acquired by Compass Group for £64 million.

VSG was acquired from the private equity firm Lloyds Development Capital (LDC) and VSG’s management. LDC acquired a significant minority stake in the company in 2007.

Northamptonshire-based VSG, which provides manned guarding and security training, was established in 2000 by the current senior management team. VSG has around 6,000 employees and for the year to March 2010 reported sales of £121.3 million.

Keith Francis, managing director of VSG, comments: ‘The deal with Compass Group is the right move for VSG and going forward, their partnership will allow us to further our growth strategy and take the business into a new dimension.’

Compass Group is an international food service company that provides catering and vending services for clients including schools and hospitals. In 2009 the Surrey-based company declared a turnover of over £13 billion.
