Credit services information provider Computec is a publicly listed company on the Colombian stock exchange, and is to be purchased for COP$736 billion (£252.5 million).

Experian says that the acquisition will further strengthen its Latin American presence, building on its presence that it has already established in Brazil.

Computec owns the credit bureau in Colombia, including the most extensive database in Colombia on the credit behaviour of consumers. Computec also provides outsource document services to business-to-business clients such as document design, production and delivery.

Experian employs 15,000 people in 40 countries. The business has its corporate headquarters in London.
