Aerospace giant BAE Systems has acquired Advanced Ceramics Research, a US producer of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), for £10.6 million in cash.
Advanced Ceramics Research employs 60 people and is based in Tucson, Arizona. The acquisition supports BAE Systems’ UAS strategy by expanding the company’s small and tactical UAS capability.
BAE Systems reported promising results in its latest statement, with sales up by 18 per cent to £18.5 billion, and an order book that has increased by 20 per cent to £46.5 billion.
The acquisition is subject to regulatory clearances.
