Bibby Line bought Garic, which serves companies such as Balfour Beatty, McAlpine and Carillion, from Lorne and Gary Entwistle for an undisclosed sum.
A spokesman at Bibby told GrowthBusiness: “We believe it is a good business, with a strong business model and good management.”
He added that the brothers remain at the company following the deal and will continue to manage Garic for “the next few years”.
Law firm George Davies Solicitors and accountancy practice Cowgill Holloway worked on the deal.
Garic designs, makes and hires equipment to the construction and infrastructure sectors. Its products include environmentally-friendly protective fuel tanks, vehicle wheelwash gear, drum stores and work cabins.
Liverpool-based Bibby Line has interests in financial, logistic and marine services businesses.
