British Gas buys Energy and Building Management

British Gas owner Centrica Plc has acquired Energy and Building Management Solutions Limited (BMSL) for up to £3.2 million.

British Gas owner Centrica Plc has acquired Energy and Building Management Solutions Limited (BMSL) for up to £3.2 million.

BSML provides energy management and consulting services and designs building control systems.

Centrica reported an increase in revenue of 31 per cent to £21.3 billion, and a decrease in operating profit of 0.4 per cent to £1.9 billion.       

Sam Laidlaw, chief executive of Centrica, said: “The financial performance in 2008 was good despite a much tougher environment, and we made strong progress against the strategic priorities we set out at the start of 2007.”
