BookingTek secures £2.2m in growth finance

BookingTek, a provider of direct-booking software to major hotel groups, secures growth capital from Mobeus Equity Partners to expand the team and broaden its international presence.

London-based hospitality tech start-up, BookingTek, provides software for hotels to reduce their reliance on third-party booking systems. Founded in 2011, the enterprise-grade, real-time booking platform for meeting rooms and restaurant reservations frees the hospitality sector for middle men.

The platform incorporates PCI payment processing that lets hotels make their products viewable, bookable and payable all on their own website. BookingTek’s existing clients include two of the world’s top ten hotel groups.

Now in its growth phase, BookingTek secured investment from Mobeus, with the firm’s partner Trevor Hope joining the board. “For what today is a relatively small software company based in London, Matthew (Stubbs) and his team have done a fantastic job in developing an elegant software platform and building a trusted relationship with the largest hotels groups in the world which are now adopting the software. The Mobeus funding will provide the support the company requires to deliver on the opportunity they have created,” Hope said.

Although online booking for hotel rooms is the norm globally, this isn’t the case for event spaces and meeting rooms. Most hotels still rely on manually booking these rooms, and usually this is a time-intensive undertaking delegated to front desk staff, taking them away from their main duties of being the face of the hotel. BookingTek’s Meetings Maker tool is designed for this neglected service, opening up event space bookings as accessible and easy to use as booking rooms.

Guests themselves can book and pay for a meeting room, based on the location of the event space, its accessibility and what the room looks like. This is one of the many products BookingTek aims to take globally with the investment secured from Mobeus.
