Engineering company AMEC has acquired UK-based environmental consultancy Entec for an initial consideration of £61.2 million from its owner-managers and investors, Growth Capital Partners.

Engineering company AMEC has acquired UK-based environmental consultancy Entec for an initial consideration of £61.2 million from its owner-managers and investors, Growth Capital Partners.

Entec has 700 employees and is headquartered in Newcastle with 14 offices across the UK.

Roger Jinks, president of AMEC’s earth & environmental division, says the acquisition is an important step in the company’s strategy to enhance its environmental consulting capabilities.

The acquisition was made on a debt-free basis and the consideration has been settled in cash.

AMEC has revenue of £2.5 billion and employs more than 21,000 people in 40 countries.
