Alternative Networks plc, a business-to-business telecoms reseller, has bought The Telecom Centre, which trades as Echo Communications, in a deal that could be worth £14.3 million.

The telecom and data products seller was bought as part of Alternative Network’s strategy of strengthening its business through targeted acquisitions.

Telecom Centre was sold by Richard Bampfylde and Simon Turner who were advised on the legal issues of the disposal by Cumberland Ellis LLP.

The firm, which was led by partner Suzanne Eva, has been advising Bampfylde and the company for the almost ten years. “Cumberland Ellis was involved from the outset with the signing of the heads of agreement, it then advised throughout the negotiations and acted for selling shareholders in the successful completion of the transaction,” Eva said.
