UK marketing specialist Alterian has acquired US competitor Techrigy for up to $5 million (£3 million).

David Eldridge, CEO of Alterian, commented: ‘Marketing is currently going through a revolution. The days of mass marketing, untargeted mailings, email blasts and generic brochure-ware websites are numbered. Marketers now need to appeal to the individual and engage with customers on a personal basis.’

Alterian, which is based in Bristol, reported an increase in revenue of 73 per cent to £33 million and operating profits of £6 million for year-end March 2009.

Elridge said that the latest acquisition should strengthen the company’s ability to provide a broader range of services to clients.
