ACS acquires BSG 

London-based NHS healthcare software specialist Advanced Computer Software (ACS) has agreed to acquire Business Services Group, an IT outsourcing and networking company. ACS is offering BSG shareholders 19.11p in cash per BSG share, with a combined value of £15.5 million.

London-based NHS healthcare software specialist Advanced Computer Software (ACS) has agreed to acquire Business Services Group, an IT outsourcing and networking company. ACS is offering BSG shareholders 19.11p in cash per BSG share, with a combined value of £15.5 million.

Vin Murria, chief executive officer of ACS, said: “With its hosting, disaster recovery and outsourcing capabilities, the acquisition of BSG will enable ACS to speed up the rollout of our core growth SaaS [software-as-a-service] products, in particular iNurse (a mobile device for community nurses), Summary Care Record (a single view of the patient record) and End of Life (applications for managing palliative care).”

In the eight months to 31 August 2008, ACS reported revenues of £7.6 million and pre-tax profits of £467,000.
