An overall 63 per cent of respondents have changed their plans, with more than half revealing a holiday budget cut whilst nearly a quarter deciding to stay at home altogether.
Derek Pilcher, MD of TheLadders.co.uk says, ‘Having a strong work ethic is admirable in times of economic difficulty but being able to put some distance between yourself and your office can bring greater perspective.’
A separate survey from stationery company Euroffice.co.uk suggests that half of UK managers intend to contact the office this summer while away on holiday, with a quarter checking in once a day.
