• Marketing communications specialist Aegis Group plc has bought MenCompany in Italy for some €420,000 (£332.4 million). The target company specialises in one-off road shows, events and ambient marketing

• Antisoma plc, a biotechnology company focused on the production of cancer drugs, has acquired Massachusetts-based Xanthus Pharmaceuticals for some £26.8 million ($52.2 million) in shares

• Call-centre group Response has purchased software services company Inisoft
