Having helped thousands of businesses develop their brand identity and marketing materials, the digital design company has decided to give something back to the UK’s thriving business community, by developing a step-by-step guide to launching a new business venture.

There’s never been a better time to start a business, last year an estimated 581,000 businesses were created with that number expected to rise to over 600,000 this year.

So just how important are small businesses to the UK?

–  In 2014, there were 5.2 million businesses in the UK, over 99% of which were small and medium enterprises.

–  Small and medium enterprises employed 15.2 million people in the UK in 2014.

– The European Commission’s SME Performance Review estimates the Gross Value Added of European SME’s was €473 billion which equates to 49.8% of the UK economy.

… of Helloprint has commented on the thinking behind the infographic…

“We work alongside small business’s everyday, and having talked to hundreds of SME owners, it’s clear that there is a lack of information concerning the formative years of a company. We decided to fill that void to hopefully encourage more young entrepreneurs to go it alone!”

The checklist includes everything from finding a mentor to registering your business, as well as advice on what you need to consider before becoming operational and ways to promote your company before and after launch.
