There may have been a recent faltering in new issues from far-flung mining companies. But that has not left the indefatigable Laurie Beevers, who has floated a succession of Aussies and others on AIM for Manchester broker WH Ireland, twiddling his thumbs.
‘I have a string of companies coming through,’ he says. Currently under consideration is Xanadu, Australia’s fourth largest wine producer, which Beevers hopes to introduce onto the junior market after a ‘sub-£2 million’ fundraising.
If that goes well, he has a more esoteric candidate in mind, an as-yet unnamed Ukrainian food group, which specialises in butter, chocolate butter, cheese and dry milk.
