Action Indoor Sports Stadiums secured the investment from YFM Group and Sport England.
YFM provided £750,000 of venture capital funding, comprising £500,000 from The Finance South West Growth Fund and £250,000 from the South West Ventures Fund. Sport England, formerly the English Sports Council, has complemented YFM’s investment with a £250,000 grant.
Action Indoor will use the funding to continue the development of its Bristol site and to begin the expansion of its business to 27 centres across the UK and Ireland in the next few years.
A spokesperson for YFM declined to reveal what shareholding the firm has taken in exchange for its investment.
Action Indoor Sports was established to operate a network of centres and is currently renovating its first centre, which will accommodate sports such as beach volleyball.
