A Doncaster-based Yorkshire pudding maker has secured new funds to help it take advantage of increasing demand in the frozen food market.
The Real Yorkshire Pudding Company received a £50,000 loan from South Yorkshire Investment Fund (SYIF), which it will use to buy a blast-freezer to complete a lucrative contract.

The new equipment will freeze the puddings quickly to avoid damage before being packaged and is set to improve its exports to Europe and Canada.

Managing director Paul Holmes said the funding will help the company to grow into new markets.

SYIF, led by investment director Karl Hodson, was introduced to the deal by Alan Scott of Business Link Yorkshire.

“The company’s growth into the frozen market has been relatively quick and it is a positive statement about its flexibility in responding to industry changes,” Hodson said. “The funding will provide further opportunity to export and enable the company to build on its impressive expansion programme.”
