Leeds-headquartered venture capital firm YFM invested £5 million across the UK in the first quarter of the year, £1.8 million of it in the North West.

Recent investments include domiciliary services provider Ellfin Home Care, food service business Boxlogix and software concern Datascape Online.

The total invested by YFM in the first quarter of 2009 is less than for the same period last year, when £4.5 million was invested in January alone.
