The training programme developed by Break30 is called PUTTLAB, and uses ultrasonic technology derived from the medical industry to map a putting swing. The data is then analysed using motion capture technology to build a training programme that has been developed over 15 years in Germany.

The product has already been adopted by golfing star Tiger Woods and Break30 is now an education partner for the Professional Golfers Associations (PGAs) of Europe. With backing from YHEF the company now plans to work with global PGAs to develop training programmes for professional and amateur golfers.

Chris Fitzsimmons, who led the deal on behalf of YHEF, commented: “Break30 and PUTTLAB are focusing on a new and exciting segment of the golf market. Their progress to date has been impressive and with our funding we believe they will quickly grow to become the leading putting training aid based on their scientific approach to improving a player’s putting style.”

From ten regional offices, YFM manages more than £300 million for institutional and retail clients. YHEF is managed by YFM’s Venture Finance investment arm.

In the past 12 months, YFM has completed deals worth more than £52 million in 38 companies in the Yorkshire and Humber region.
