Agriculture and retail concern Wynnstay has acquired Staffordshire-based Youngs Animal Feeds (YAF) for £750,000.

YAF manufactures equine feed and pet products and has additional distribution centres in Cheshire and Merseyside. In the twelve months to April, the company generated pre-tax profits of £208,000 on revenue of £9.3 million.

Ken Greetham, chief executive of Wynnstay, said: ‘Youngs Animal Feeds is a leading equine feed manufacturer with a well established position in the wholesale market and represents a highly complementary fit with our existing feed activities.’

Wynnstay reported revenue of £117.7 million and pre-tax profits of £3.16 million in the six months ending April.
