ProVision, a Bristol-based developer of wireless high definition television (HDTV) technology, has raised a further £1 million of investment.

Bringing total investment in the company to more than £2.5 million, the fundraising round included existing backer South West Ventures Fund (SWVF) as well as a number of private investors.

Julian Dennard, managing director of SWVF, claims, ‘ProVision is perfectly placed to meet the increasing demand for wireless products and technology which can allow people at home and work to access high definition TV in different rooms over a Wi-Fi network.’

Dennard adds that this latest funding round will enable the company to extend the technology into other consumer electronics products, such as set-top boxes, PCs, mobiles and camcorders.

ProVision’s HDTV product was recently demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
