A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, by Eckhart Tolle – reviewed by Clive Wilson, managing director, Primeast

Colleagues and clients often recommend books to me, which I happily read, but A New Earth is the first one that I’ve read three times in a single year.

Eckhart Tolle is a German self-help author whose books have become bestsellers around the world. In this book, he argues that every one of us has two purposes: an inner purpose and an outer purpose. The inner purpose is focused upon self-knowledge and personal development, the outer purpose is focused upon our engagement with the outside world.

For business leaders, the underlying lesson is a blunt one: if your business is not consistent with your life’s purpose, you might as well jack it all in and start again.

For anyone concerned about leadership skills, it’s vital to tune into your own talents and ambitions. This is the catalyst for high performance.
