Other Done Deals
- Lincolnshire-based QV Foods, a supplier of fresh and prepared vegetables, has acquired the retail and foodservice division of MBM Produce based in Cambridgeshire. The financial details of the transaction remain disclosed, but it is understood that the historic liabilities for the unit will remain with MBM.
- San Francisco-based capital markets technology business Calypso has acquired the flagship portfolio construction and management platform, Galapagos, from UK IT company Codefarm. The size of the deal remains undisclosed.
- China Resources Snow Breweries, SABMiller’s joint venture in China with China Resources Enterprise, has announced that it has acquired three breweries in three separate transactions. The total investment cost for the three acquisitions is about $110 million (£77 million).
- BLP, the troubled Doncaster-based manufacturer of wood furniture components, has been bought out of administration by its management. The buy-out was led by MD Bridie Warner-Adsetts and FD Andrew Thorpe.
- The Tharanco Group, a New York-based private holding company that includes real estate and private equity investments, and an apparel arm, has acquired Greg Norman Collection, a US marketer of golf-inspired sportswear. The terms of the deal have not been disclosed, but financing was completed by CIT Commercial Services.
- A buy-in management buy-out (BIMBO) team has acquired Diagnos, a developer of diagnostic software for the car servicing industry, for an undisclosed sum.
Deals in the Pipeline
- Tenet Group, the UK’s largest independent IFA group, has revealed that it could be on the prowl for a national IFA. Tenet has amassed pre-tax profit of £2.8 million on revenues of £92.5 million for the 12 months to the end of September.
- Cash-rich Charles Taylor Consulting Plc, an AIM-traded provider of management and insurance-related services to insurance companies, has announced that it is currently in takeover talks.
