Affinity group lottery operator The Weather Lottery (TWL) is buying specialist online marketing concern ClickNow in a £49,000 share deal.

Doncaster-based TWL, which floated on AIM in 2006 running a lottery based on published temperature figures in certain cities around the world, intends to integrate ClickNow, whose Community Search Engine provides supporters of charities, schools and not-for-profit organisations with additional revenue through online marketing, with its own lottery operations.

TWL, which has had backing from John Botros, barrister and former associate of boxing promoter Frank Warren, turned a £26,000 loss into £13,000 pre-tax profits in the six months to January on reduced turnover of £633,000.

Chaired by Lord Razzall, the lawyer and Liberal peer who previously headed ill-starred telephony support concern Telephone Maintenance Group, the company commands an AIM value of £2 million.
