Engineering and technology solutions provider Semiconductor Insights Inc was acquired for $26 million (£12.8 million). An additional $8 million has been made available over the next three years subject to the vendor’s performance.

The Ontario-based vendor performs technical investigations of integrated circuits and electronic systems was established in 1989 and has 160 staff.

Intermodal South America Trade Show held annually in Sao Paulo that attracts more than 44,000 visitors was purchased for £3.4 million.

Mexican-based communications firm Notilog was purchased for $4 million (£1.97 million). A further consideration of $5 million will be payable over the next two years subject to certain performance targets being met.

Australia-based drug information business for the Australian pharmacy market Prescription Products Guide was bought for A$1 million (£400,000).

The acquisitions will extend United Business Media’s subsidiaries CMP Technology, CMP Information, PR Newswire and healthcare division CMPMedica respectively.

The expanding group informs markets and brings the world’s buyers and sellers together at events, online, in print and provides business information.
