Uruguay Mineral Exploration (UME) says it is in discussions which “may or may not” lead to an offer.

Based in the Uruguayan capital of Montevideo and quoted on AIM and the Toronto Venture Exchange, UME operates Uruguay’s only producing gold mine, at San Gregorio, and has an array of gold, diamond, copper, lead, zinc and nickel exploration prospects in the country.

The company says the present talks, with an unnamed potential bidder, are at an early stage and warns there “is no certainty” either as to the terms of any bid or whether a bid will be agreed.
