Civica has made a geospatial purchase with the acquisition of Innogistic through its UK subsidiary.
Bristol-based Innogistic provides software services in the geospatial information market to organisations such as the fire services, police and utilities.
Simon Downing, chief executive of London-headquartered Civica, says that Innogistic’s customer base, skills and product set are very complementary to Civica’s existing business.
He adds: ‘The deal will strengthen our market position as we continue to develop the use of our software while extending the scope and scale of related managed and outsourced services.’
Dave Roberts, managing director of Innogistic, comments: ‘This acquisition is a very positive development for our customers, partners and employees.
‘It provides a stronger business with a broad capability to respond to the needs of public and private organisations as they face increasing financial and management pressures, while retaining the flexibility that customers have come to expect.’
According to a statement, the enlarged business will supply 90 per cent of councils and police forces in Great Britain.
