Free mobile service provider Trutap has raised $6.5 million (£3.2 million) in a follow-on Series A funding led by the investment outfit Tudor Group. This brings the company’s total financing to $13 million.

The funding will be used for further service development, team strengthening and marketing activities across key regions.

Doug Richard, co-founder and CEO of Trutap, observes that the company ‘is passionate about building our free service and offering an easy way for people to stay connected to their social lives’.

The Tudor Group was joined by angel investors in this follow-on round.
