Ticketbis has now received $7.2 million (£4.7 million) from private investors during the last three years, following its latest round.
Company employees, and two ‘renowned’ Spanish business angels, are partaking in the $4.5 million round.
Based in Spain, and with presence globally, Ticketbis is an online platform which allows users to buy and sell tickets for any type of event. It is now operating in 15 countries and, in the first six months of 2013, had a turnover of $18 million.
Jon Urigrte, CEO and co-founder of Ticketbis, comments, ‘We have been approached by significant venture capital organisations, in both Europe and America, however, we preferred to preserve our independence and management agility and decided on private investor input only.
‘We are changing the way people purchase tickets worldwide, as demonstrated by the excellent results in the five markets that have just opened in Latin America.’
