The top 10 global entrepreneurial hotspots

The startup community has been growing. Different cities globally have an opportunity to participate in this revolutionary movement while increasing the economic growth and job creation possibilities.

Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) aims to build a single entrepreneurial ecosystem and measure the growth not only in the large but also in small innovation hubs. The Global Startup Ecosystem Report reflects the startup survey results from hundreds of companies around the world and presents the drivers for different startup city development.

Global Entrepreneurship Network has four main findings in this year’s report:

  1. Innovative ideas come from most unexpected places and in the most unanticipated ways
  2. Every startup ecosystem has a lifecycle of development. Competition is fierce for such resources as people, ideas and capital, so doing the right thing at the right time will bring highest payoffs
  3. Developing strong and vibrant startup hubs should share the sense of urgency. While city and regional leaders know the value of young businesses, the leaders or smaller economies still need to be convinced to aggressively invest, build and strengthen the entrepreneurial economy
  4. Entrepreneurial economies are multidimensional and require a different approach to data collection. Only innovative research and processing of data will be able to bring the necessary insight about the factors driving the startup success

Market Inspector created an infographic of the top 10 startup hubs worldwide, which were listed on the The Global Startup Ecosystem Report 2017.
